Do you agree that three of the hardest words to say are these, “I was wrong.”

    Don’t you agree that it requires a humility of spirit and an openness to new truth that is not always found in our hearts.

    In Acts chapter 2, there is a passage that tells us a large group of people could admit they were wrong. In Acts 2:36, Peter said: “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this, God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ.”

    When they heard that, those with sincere hearts open to the will of God, were pricked to their core and said, “What shall we do?” It's the equivalent of saying, “We were wrong about this Jesus.” What they did was repent. They turned around and instead of persecuting him, they began to follow him. They were baptized into union with him, and they walked with him as the new Lord of their life.

    Be willing when necessary to say, “I am wrong.” And be willing to chart the right course and go with God.
