Recently Barbara was studying the Bible through a Bible correspondence course with us at the Herald of Truth. She asked this question: How can I know God is merciful?
Have you ever thought about that question? How can I know God is merciful?
The first thought I had when I read Barbaras question is Psalm 86:5Your are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call on you. And then Psalm 103:8 came to mindThe Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love.
Throughout the Scriptures, God has shown us over and over again that he will not harm us. We are his precious, created, human beings. He has given us life and that life is in relationship to him. We can reject him, but he does not reject us.
What about you? Have you received and responded to the mercy of God?
That mercy has a name. His name is Jesus Christ. Hes the Savior. Hes the Lord. Hes the King. Let him be yours. Start getting to know the Master!
