Thoughts on Today's Verse...

When we harbor wickedness in our hearts, there are all sorts of "fronts" we have to keep up so people won't know the truth about us. But if righteousness is our aim, we'll try to live up to that goal with honesty. When we blow it - we stumble, sin, and rebel - we'll be honest and penitent. We won't put up a facade and pretend we didn't sin or try to rationalize our sin. We will ask for forgiveness, learning from our mistakes, sins, and weaknesses. We know that even though we're flawed, God is not finished with his work in us, so we will examine ourselves and press on toward Christ-likeness!

My Prayer...

Thank you, Almighty God, for the many times you have forgiven me. I'm sorry for the times I've tried to hide my sin from others and you. I want to live an honest, upright life, bringing glory to you in what I do, say, and treat others. Please grant me this grace with increasing measure day by day. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
