Today's Verse: 2 Thessalonians 1:3

Saturday, November 14, 2015

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

When was the last time you found a new brother or sister in Christ and told that precious person everything they were doing right? Don't you think that's too long? Shouldn't you let them know our joy and approval today? Let's be more committed to encouraging and affirming others who are in Christ and giving thanks to God for them - especially new believers. Remember what the Father did for Jesus shortly after the Lord's baptism? The Father told the Son he loved him, claimed him as his Son, and found great delight in him (Luke 3:21-22). If Jesus needed this as he began his ministry, think how much more a new follower of Jesus needs it today!

My Prayer...

Saving Shepherd of lost souls, thank you for the new Christians in our church and in my life. Bless them, protect them from the Evil One, and use these new believers as we encourage them. Please help and strengthen these new believers on their journey to maturity in Christ. In the name of Christ Jesus, my Lord, and Savior. Amen.
