    Bertrand Russell, a great intellectual and thinker, said, “The life of man is a long march through the night surrounded by invisible foes, tortured by weariness and pain toward a goal which few can hope to reach and where none may tarry long.”

    Listen to the Apostle Paul, looking back over his life in 2 Timothy. Yes, he acknowledges it was toil and persecution in his pursuit, but listen to the difference in his attitude. He said, “The Lord stood by me and gave me strength. The Lord will rescue me from evil and save me for his holy kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever!”

    His goal was worth everything!
