The author Philip Yanceys story about how he used to keep a saltwater aquarium has really helped me. Yancey did six or eight thing every day to keep the water balanced and filtered and the food for the fish regulated. And the fish had absolutely no understanding of what he was doing for them. In fact, they were scared of him; he was too large, his actions too incomprehensible. His mercy was seen as cruelty, and they fled from him.
He began to wonder if he would have to be absolutely transformed to change their perception of him an incarnation, if you please. For them to really understand, he would have to become a fish in order to speak to them in a language they could understand.
And thats exactly what God did in Christ, for us. For you!
