We can’t build a strong life—or a strong family—without giving God top priority every day. Not because he needs it, but because we need it. We need him for his wisdom. Wisdom to balance our lives, wisdom to give us comfort, wisdom to make things right when things go wrong, because we really don’t have that wisdom, and can’t get it apart from him!

    Every time I make a poor decision, chances are good that I’ve missed my quiet time with God and with his word; time to read, to pray and to reflect. No book speaks directly to your heart like the Bible. As the Psalmist said, “The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy. The make wise the simple.” I need that wisdom every day of my life.

    Make the time, take the time. Let God’s Word sink down deep into your heart.
