Key Thought

The Lord's Day, Sunday, the first day of the week, is special for all of us who recognize Jesus as Lord. Special because Jesus rose on that day. Special because it was the day in consecutive weeks after his resurrection that he met and ate with his closest followers. Special because we gather with others and worship in the Spirit, tied together by the Holy Spirit who gave us new birth and who ushers us into the throne room of heaven to worship God. John reminds us that on this special day, filled with God's Spirit (Ephesians 5:18-19), we can also be presented with God's message of hope and encouragement and future.

Today's Prayer

O Father, may I hear your message for me this day, through your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
