God's Holy Fire: 'Before the Throne'

Saturday, October 10, 2026

At once I [John] was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it.

Key Thought

The book of Revelation is a series of visions John received while worshiping in the Spirit on the Lord's Day! Rather than giving him a key to enter the gates of heaven, God sent the Spirit to bring him there in a vision. Think how much more powerful our weekly assemblies for worship would be if we would think of them as times where the Holy Spirit would give us a taste of heaven!

Today's Prayer

O Father, forgive me for not expecting much when I assemble with your children to worship you. Open my eyes to see your grace and fill my heart with your Spirit so that I can experience a taste of heaven! In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
