God's Holy Fire: 'I Am Sending You!'

Friday, November 13, 2026

Again [Jesus] said, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you." Then he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit."

Key Thought

We are here on purpose. What we have been given and the time in which we live are not accidents, luck, or the achievements of our own hands. God has formed us, Jesus has called us, and the Holy Spirit indwells us for such a time as this. Just as surely as God sent Jesus by the miraculous conception in the womb of Mary by the Holy Spirit, we have been reborn by the power of the Holy Spirit and sent by Jesus into the world to show and share God's grace. I hope we hear the Savior's voice as he says, "As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you."

Today's Prayer

Gracious Father, thank you for sending Jesus to show us your love for us, your will for our lives, and your longing to reach all people with your grace. Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit, your abiding presence within me. Help me sense the Spirit's presence and power. Give me the courage to live up to my Spirit-powered mission of sharing Jesus' grace. I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
