How Much It Cost, by Phil Ware

    “How much is it?”

    “Can we afford that?”

    “What’s it cost?”

    “Isn’t that a bit high?”

“Should we spend that much on them?”

Have you been asking these questions a lot lately? Christmas shopping makes us ask all sorts of questions, doesn’t it! We want to be generous, but not financially irresponsible. We want to bless our children, but not spoil them. We want to give to our relatives, but we’ve got to stay within a budget. Of course we can avoid it all till after the first of the year, put it on a credit card, and have to pay for our irresponsibility for the next twelve months.

I wonder if the angels ever asked God those kind of questions before he conceived Jesus in Mary’s womb?

    “Are they worth it?”

    “Will they receive it?”

“Isn’t it an awfully high price to pay?”

“Should you spend that much on them?”

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
He sure paid an awfully high cost to give us the best gift ever given!

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but he loved us and gave his Son…” 1 John 4:10

“For God so loved the world he gave his one and only Son…” John 3:16

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 8:15

“God made him (Jesus) who had no sin, to be sin for us so we could be the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

“God showed his love for us in this, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

So as you count the cost of your Christmas gifts this year, let them remind you of the best gift you ever received and the Father who gave it to you. Then, make a commitment in your heart to never quit thanking him for the gift that keeps on giving!

“What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how then will he not also, along with him, give us all things?” Romans 8:31-32
