I read about a retired person who said:
The best thing about growing old is you don't have to feel the need to impress anyone anymore.
I've seen people transform this way as they age in my work with marriage and family therapy and my ministry. As they age, some folks no longer worry about meeting the right people, saying the right things, and being in the right places. They're free now to be themselves under God's grace.
Christians should live this way all the time. Pleasing our loving Father is what counts. Being what he wants us to be — genuine, authentic — responding how he wants us to respond is what matters!
Live this way all the time!
Paul said that each of us who is in Christ is a "new creation" (2 Corinthians 5:17). That means that the old way of doing things and living in bondage to please the crowd has gone — and with it goes the old value system — and the new has come. Now that's real freedom.
