Dr. Paul Faulkner
|
Certainly, there is no one more qualified than Dr. Paul Faulkner to
effectively communicate the strategies in this series of articles on the family. He and his wife Gladys enjoy a marriage that has produced four faithful Christian children, who in turn are passing their faith to the next generation. Faulkner himself is a man of exceptional personal accomplishment. He holds the Chair of Marriage and Family at Abilene Christian University and has a private practice in Marriage Therapy. Faulkner
is the founder of Resources for Living, a counseling and consulting service for businesses, such as Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Kroger, and a consortium of financial institutions. He has authored the best selling books
Making Things Right When Things Go Wrong and
Achieving Success Without Failing Your Family and coauthored another best seller,
What Every Family Needs (with Dr. Carl Brecheen). He is well known around the world for his enlightening and entertaining seminars based on these books.
Faulkner’s education began at Abilene Christian University, with a B.S. in 1952 and a M.S. in 1961. He then received his M.RE. and
Ph.D. (in Psychology and Philosophy of Education) from
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1966 and 1968 respectively. From there, he did
post-doctoral training at Pepperdine University and the American Institute of Family Relations.
Faulkner is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Christian Association for
Psychological Studies, the American Association for Counseling and Development, and a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. He received the first annual award from the Center For Adolescent Studies at Abilene Christian University in 1990. He has also received the Distinguished Christian Service award from both Harding University and Pepperdine University.
