But for you who welcome [the Spirit of Christ], in whom [God] dwells — even though you still experience all the limitations of sin — you yourself experience life on God's terms. It stands to reason, doesn't it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he'll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's!

Key Thought

The Holy Spirit is "the alive-and-present God"! He is alive in us. He moves in our lives. He delivers us from our past lives of bondage to sin and death. He empowers us to a new life, and not just after our bodies are dead, and we are resurrected at Jesus' return. That new life has already begun in us through the Spirit who is alive and moving in us.

Today's Prayer

Lord God, Savior, King, and Ruler of the universe, move in me and bring your life to live in me through the Holy Spirit, now and forevermore. In Jesus' name, I ask this. Amen.
