God's Holy Fire: 'God's Eternal Pledge'

Sunday, November 15, 2026

Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God's Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge — a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete.

Key Thought

"Yes"! Jesus is God's way of saying "Yes" to every promise made to deliver us and bring us home to him. But our glorious God and loving Father didn't stop there. He added another "Yes"! He put his Holy Spirit within us to give us a taste of heaven's future glory and a permanent and indwelling reminder that our future is with him and is certain!

Today's Prayer

Father in heaven, you are holy and eternal. I am neither of those things except for your grace to redeem me and your Spirit's presence and power to bring me to your presence as your beloved and blameless child. Thank you for your abiding presence in the Holy Spirit who is the constant reminder of my future with you. In Jesus' name, I thank you. Amen.
