Day 92: Life After Laos April 30, 1998 Thursday Evening or Friday Morning Dear Family, We are still enjoying the hospitality of Kim & Rebecca Voraritskul in Khonkaen, Thailand. Hospitality with them includes wonderful fellowship (not food but the joint sharing of each other's lives), unlimited airconditioning, unlimited use of their pickup, and unlimited abuse of an area to sort four large crates of medical supplies and equipment, books, and personal effects. When we were deported, we only had seven days to end 2 1/2 years of living in Vientiane. We are separating everything into one of four piles: Laos, Thailand, Burma and the United States. We hope to have your prayers and God's wisdom as we plan for life after Laos. We are planning a trip to Burma (Myanmar) May 8th to help open a Partners in Progress office there if all continues to go well with the Allisons. We can't share details with you yet, but we hope to meet some wonderful folks this weekend and have first hand news about the Laos Ten. Phonsawan visited with the Allisons this evening. They discussed the current situation, sang together, prayed together, and she was crying as she left to go back to the daily burdens that only she can carry. We are confident that God is holding a weak and struggling church together by the efforts of one small Laotian sister with a heart as big as Texas. Tommy & Mary Alice have been the answer to our prayers for someone with the love of Christ to be able to comfort hurting brethren in Vientiane. The Allisons had another red tape monster day dealing with officials that were in a hurry to leave for a three day weekend. Friday is a national holiday, May Day. Visas, vehicles, and other important matters all stop at 3:50 P.M. on Thursday, please come back Monday. Tommy's effort to meet with the attorney was also postponed until a later date. Don't forget to check the Laos 10 web site, new daddy Paul Lee has it updated and looking good. Thomas and Kindy Kweekul left Udorn today and fly out of Bangkok tomorrow. We will be in Khonkaen until Saturday afternoon. Please forgive us if our daily reports missed you, we are using a different laptop and are obviously the original computer dummies. God bless you as you continue to pray for and be concerned about the Laos Ten and their families.
