Spiritual Warfare: 'Suffering in This World Connects Us to Jesus'

God's Power for Our Battles — Tuesday, April 8, 2025

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.
— 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 NLT

Today's Prayer

Lord, You suffered humiliation, shame, pain, agony, and death for our sake. Forgive me for expecting a pain-free life just because I belong to You. Remind me that the suffering I experience now — though it's nothing to compare to what You suffered — connects me to You in a unique, eternal way. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
