Identity

   The Criminal burst into the Old West saloon and with his guns blazing, yelled; "All you filthy skunks get out of here!"

   The saloon quickly emptied as the customers ran through door and jumped through windows - all except one Englishman, who calmly stood at the bar sipping his drink.

   "Well?" said the gunman.

   The Englishman responded, "Well, there certainly were a lot of them, weren't there?"  

   There was a man who knew who he wasn't.

     Confidence is a widely appreciated quality in our day and time. People spend millions attending seminars, buying books and tapes, all to gain confidence -- to know who they are. For the believer we can be confident that we are loved and cared for. We were once enemies of God, but by his grace and love we are no longer considered enemies, because Christ has bridged the gap between us and God. Paul reminds us in Colossians 1:13, "God rescued us from the dark power of Satan and brought us into the kingdom of his dear son." (CEV)

   Thank God we are part of His Son's kingdom.
