In 1892 a Scottish scientist by the name of James Dewar invented a
double-walled glass vessel to keep gases and chemicals at a constant low
temperature in his laboratory. However, Dewar saw no commercial value in
his innovation. However, one of his ex-pupils, Rienhold Buigel, took
Dewar's idea and moved to Germany, where he started mass-producing the
product for domestic use. Thus, in 1904, thanks to Buigel's
insightfulness, the world's first Thermos bottles came into being, with
Buigel reaping the benefits of the invention.
Many people today fail to see the potential power of prayer. Jesus
reminded His disciples, "Whatever you ask in my name, that will I do, so
that the Father may be glorified in the Son" (John 14:13).
Praying in Jesus' name is not some magic formula. Rather, it is praying
for the same things which Christ would desire us to accomplish, thus
glorifying Christ through and by our prayers.
Prayer... we need to use it.
