In the September 23, 1996 issue of Newsweek Magazine, a statistic was reported about the integrity of politicians, or lack thereof. It said, "It seems that three decades of increasingly lurid revelations about the antics of men in high places has apparently persuaded voters to look elsewhere for role models."
Where will people look for role models?
Athletes, entertainers, or politicians? I don't think they can find what they are looking for in these.
How about the church? Christians today? It may be that they can't find solid role models here either.
If we are truly committed believers, then our lives should be reflective of the solid characteristics that people can look for and model for our world. The apostle Paul reminds us, "Watch your life closely...because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers" (1 Timothy 4:16). Truly we can be uncommon people in a common world.
