Merry Christmas!

We pray the Lord blesses you with the grace of Jesus' presence this Christmas!

As for Philip, an angel of the Lord said to him, "Go south down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza." So he started out, and he met the treasurer of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under the Kandake, the queen of Ethiopia. The eunuch had gone to Jerusalem to worship, and he was now returning. Seated in his carriage, he was reading aloud from the book of the prophet Isaiah.

The Holy Spirit said to Philip, "Go over and walk along beside the carriage."

— Acts 8:26-29 NLT

Key Thought

Jesus promised that if people would ask, seek, and knock, then God would open the door for them to receive and find and have grace available to them (Luke 11:9-10). Today, people from all over the world are seeking Jesus. Sometimes, Jesus will appear to them in dreams and visions to reach them. Other times, he works to pair them up with someone he has sent to share the Good News with them. In an increasingly hostile world, thousands are still coming to Jesus because people like Philip are willing to partner with God in reaching others. Am I — are you — ready to help Jesus reach those who are asking, seeking, and knocking?

Today's Prayer

O Father, please be with all those people everywhere who are seeking Jesus. Please especially bless those who are facing persecution or facing family rejection because of their faith in Jesus. Please give me wisdom, O God, to recognize seekers when you place them around me. Help me know where to begin and how to lead them to know Jesus and have faith in him. I ask for the Holy Spirit to help me as he helped those original disciples share the message of Jesus with others. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

About This Devotional

Unstoppable! is a one-year devotional guide through the book of Acts. Each devotional consists of a scripture passage, a reflection and a prayer. The reflection opens up the day's scripture and shows how it challenges one to live for Jesus.
