    Her name is Missy Jenkins. Perhaps you remember her as one of those injured in the high school shooting in Kentucky. Missy is 15 years old and is permanently paralyzed. Missy was struck by a bullet in her collarbone. It then deflected downward through her lung and then severed her spinal cord. It’s unlikely that she will ever be able to sit up in a wheel chair.

    Is her life over? No, not at all. Missy says about the gunman, “I’m not mad at him. I can forgive him. I just want to know ‘Why?’“

“I can forgive him.”

    Surely we can want to know ‘Why?’ too! In Job 42:1, the Bible says: “I know that you can do all things. No plan of yours can be thwarted. My Ears had heard of you, but now mine eyes have seen you.”

    The reason I think of this Bible passage in relation to a 15 year old, Christ-loving young lady named Missy Jenkins, is because her life is assured. The future of those who trust in Christ is as bright as the promises of God.

    Whatever your difficulty today, let Missy’s faith encourage you as you hold on to the promises of our loving Father.
