Margie Hack tells a beautiful story about her little sister when she was two years old. She wandered out into a pasture where there was a large and unruly horse. No one rode that horse except the father. This horse would strike out with his front hooves and let fly with his back when anyone came near him.
The little girl had no notion that she was in danger. When the father found her there, he was frightened. He wanted to rescue her without alarming that horse. Quietly he walked up to the fence and he softly called for that little two year old to come to him. He even tried to motion to her to walk around the horse.
She had no notion that she was in danger.

She smiled brightly and said, Like this daddy? And she ducked her head and walked under the belly of this dangerous horse as he stood perfectly still.
The father was in disbelief. But he scooped up this little two year old and laughed and said, Yeah, like that.
The Lord stands beside us as we walk through this world. Nothing can separate us from his love. He asks us to come to him in child-like trust. Philippians 4:6 says: Do not be anxious about anything. Its prefaced by the phrase, The Lord is near.
So today, dont forget the nearness of your Lord.
