I read something the other day that really hit home. It goes like this: Ive learned that you can do something in an instant that will give you a headache for a lifetime.
Oh, boy, that pierced me. Because I like to be spontaneous! But being spontaneous can get me into trouble, and you too.
A stupid, careless action that you wish you could take back, or a dumb, thoughtless comment that just pops out of your mouth can devastate others. You can hurt someone as close as your spouse or as distant as that person you griped at for messing up your bill... only to find out later that the bill was right after all! Have you ever done that?
Ecclesiastes 10:1 says As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom in all.
I guess the message is Think! Carelessness can cost you too much.
