If you’re going to make it in this life, you’ve got to develop some tough, strong character. I mean strong! Strong enough to deal with death, but more than that, every kind of suffering and failure and divorce and disease and abuse and disgrace and disappointment! Wow!

    We also have to be strong enough to triumph over the dripping tedium of day-by-day, uneventful activities—the boring, commonplace, spirit-deadening events.

    Where are you going to get that kind of toughness? Where are you going to get that kind of strength? There is one source, and it has been put to the test, personified by a perfect life of service and love that triumphed over all temptations. You know who it is: Jesus Christ.

    In Philippians, Paul says, “I can do everything through the strength I get from Christ.” God bless!
