This year, Americans will bet more than 400 billion dollars (that starts with a b!). More people go to casinos than to major league baseball games. It’s projected that by the end of this decade, 95% of all Americans will live within three hours of a casino.
What about this “something for nothing” attitude? Is that the way we want to raise our children? Is that the way we build our nation?
The Bible warns us in I Timothy that the desire to get rich is a trap and it leads men to ruin and destruction. The way to avoid this financial illusion is to look to the wisdom of God’s word and seek after the riches of His Kingdom.
