O gracious Father, please shower your grace on those I love who struggle with sin, who are broken by life's problems, beset by disease, and caught in trying circumstances.
I pledge to minister to their needs as I ask you to comfort, heal, strengthen and mend in ways my words and deeds cannot.

GRACE
Care for the Broken
When we look around us, we see people who are broken and besieged by life's difficulties. Rather than growing calloused to the overwhelming needs of the broken, we are called to action and prayer. One without the other is insufficient and unfaithful. God longs to minister to the broken, but his hands and feet and heart are found in us.
"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
(Psalm 34:18)
Piety that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look afer orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
(James 1:27)
Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds -- his name is the LORD -- and rejoice before him. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing.
(Psalm 68:4-6)
"Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?"
"I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
(Matthew 25:37-40)
