Recently, the 49 year old president of American Express resigned. The Wall Street Journal said, “After three failed marriages and tons of overtime, Jeffrey Stifler calls it quits.” He said he didn’t think he was doing a good job at work, and not as good a job as he wanted with his children, and he resigned to prioritize his family.

    His friend said, “I don’t know any of my successful friends who haven’t got the same problem. The only thing that makes Jeff unusual is that he did something about it.”

    You don’t have to be president of American Express to neglect your family. If you know you are neglecting your family, you can make the same kind of decisions he did. Life is always asking you to bring back into focus what are the most important things in the long run. Think about it.
