The Psalmist tells us that  “Children are a heritage from the Lord.” Some of God’s greatest blessings come to us through our children. Sharing with them, listening to them, doing things with them are among the most satisfying ways of investing our time.

         But it does take time, even sacrifice on our part. Parents don’t just have a baby, they bring a soul into the world. A soul headed for eternity. We parents have the opportunity to set in motion, provide the direction and build the momentum for those precious little souls. Hopefully, they will grow up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

         It’s a pretty incredible job—and a heavy responsibility. Let’s make the rest of the day work a little better by taking seriously the fantastic blessing we have in our children.
